Vanessa Marcil BioStats:Date of Birth: 15 October 1968, Indio, California, USA Birth Name: Sally Vanessa Ortiz Height: 5' 4" (1.63 m) Actress Vanessa Marcil was born on October 15, 1968, in Indio, California, USA. Her parents are Peter Ortiz and Patricia Marcil Ortiz. She grew up in the hot city of Palm Desert with her parents. She has two older sisters Tina and Sherry and an older brother Sam. At the age of eight, Vanessa started acting in plays. She began pursuing an acting career and did a few theatre productions. Finally in 1992, at the age of 23, she landed the role of Brenda Barrett on "General Hospital," which helped launched her TV and movie career. In 1996, she first appearred in a theatrical release called "The Rock" starring Nicolas Cage. She starred in a TV movie "To Love, Honor, and Deceive" in 1996. Vanessa spent five years on "General Hospital," and left the series in 1998 to become a regular on the series "Beverly Hills, 90210" at the beginning of the ninth season. She played Gina Kincaid, a former ice skater. She replaced Tiffani Thiessen, who was on for four years, and she, in turn, replaced original cast member Shannen Doherty who quit at the end of season four. She met actor Brian Austin Green on the show and the two had a baby together Kassius Lijah Marcil-Green born in March 31, 2002. Kassius was named for Muhammad Ali (aka Cassius Clay), of whom Brian is a fan. In the fall of 2002, she returned to "General Hospital" for a year, reprising her role as Brenda Barrett, and won her first Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Supporting Actress" in 2003. After she quit in 2003, she became an original cast member of the NBC drama "Las Vegas" and played Sam Marquez, a casino host. She was married to Corey Feldman from 1989-1991. She was named one of "People" magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People in 1996. Vanessa once performed her own song at a 6th grade talent show and won. She attended College of the Desert in Palm Desert, California and studied law. She was named in honor of actress Vanessa Redgrave. In 2005, she was named #19 on the Maxim magazine Hot 100 of 2005 list. In 2006, she was named #92 in FHM magazine's "100 Sexiest Women in the World 2006" supplement.
