The Price Of FameAs any star will tell you, the downside of all the fame is the attention fame brings you.Valerie tells about some of the episodes regarding photo takers in cars while they were just relaxing and having the photos printed in the tabloids with stories built how miserable Valerie is because she's fat and this and that, and she's thinking, first of all, she's not fat, and second of all, she's not miserable, she happens to be very happy, so why does she have to make up these stories? For Valerie, the most excruciating pain she had suffered are the accuisations hurled at her marriage. Although she's been married for over 17 years, the tabloid press has her marriage coming apart at the seams every six months. That's the toughest press any celebrity has to deal with. How do you defend yourself? They pull up these constant scandals and they'll say stuff like the only reason they're still together is that she lost pounds. What does that mean? There's so much more important things going on in the world that they have to fill up their rags with that rubbish. It did take Valerie a while to lose the weight from after she had Wolfie, and they seem to think it's a big deal. Who cares? My thoughts on the rags: what is the purpose of making up bad stories about celebrities for? Making money? Let me tell you that harping on celebrities is no way to earn credibility among the peers of the free press. They should be lucky that some celebrities have such a heart of gold that they never think of suing them in court. What has Eddie and Valerie ever done to them to warrant all those fabricated junk anyway? The press should be there to inform and to educate, not to libel. Couldn't they use their tabloids as a forum to heal instead of hurting one another? So if Valerie is fat, fine, who cares, I still am a fan. Heck, I watched Roseanne and I like her too. I don't see the size of the body, just the size of the person inside. Several facts were taken off the Lifetime "Intimate Portrait" of Valerie Bertinelli with added facts from "The Complete Directory To Prime Time Network Shows" by Tim Brooks. |
