ABC Family picks up 'Melissa & Joey' (Jan 30, 2010)ABC Family continued its series pickup streak this week with a 10-episode order to comedy pilot "Melissa & Joey."The multicamera "Melissa & Joey," starring and executive produced by Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence, centers on a political dynasty wild child-turned-politician (Hart) who takes in her teenage niece and pre-adolescent nephew when her sister goes to prison and her brother-in-law flees. She turns for help to a guy (Lawrence), who, desperate for a job, moves in and becomes the family's "manny." David Kendall and Bob Young wrote the project and are also executive produing, as is Paula Hart. "Melissa & Joey," which reunites Hart and Lawrence who toplined ABC Family's hit original movie "My Fake Fiance," is slated to premiere in 2010. For readers in the Los Angeles area, a TV star is getting into the yogurt and treats business. Melissa Joan Hart, actress and producer with her company, Hartbreak Films, is expanding her horizons when she opens a yogurt store in the Sherman Oaks area on May 30. The store, called, well, SweetHarts, is located at 13704 Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks, California. The website is http://www.sweethartssweets.com The grand opening of the store will be happening on May 30th from 2-5 for free froyo (aka. Frozen Yogurt). They will also have ice cream, gelato, coffee, cakes and baked goods, and nostalgic candy as well as a great party room.

Her movie, "Holiday in Handcuffs", will premiere on Sunday, December 9 at 8:00pm (7pm Central) on ABC Family. "It's a really funny sweet romantic comedy," says Hart. She also blogs for some support for her husband Mark Wilkerson's band Course of Nature. Their song, "Anger Cage", can be requested on XM Radio or local rock stations. The band is being featured on CNN, Hollywood Previews, TV Guide channel , Starz Entertainment, E! Entertainment, Access Hollywood, and Buzznet. The video for "Anger Cage" is scheduled to debut at the NY Giants at Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday December 9th, which is 10am Fox 6 game on the West coast, opposite the Chargers at Tennesee game, which will be on CBS 8 here. It's unlikely that the NFL will let Fox 6 run the Giants/Eagles game in San Diego because it's opposite the Chargers, so the NFL will let Fox 6 run a 1pm game. CBS 8 gets the double-header that weekend, so Fox can run only one game that day. The video was directed by and includes a cameo by Hart. Mark and Melissa are expecting baby number two Melissa states that she's currently 18 weeks along and counting. Mark, Mason and Melissa are really excited and she's also really scared! Its hard to imagine chasing two kids around! She's up in Canada working on a Lifetime movie. It's been really hard work for her and she's very tired right now, lots of running and having to suck in her growing belly. Melissa will be guest-starring on Law and Order: Special Victims' Unit this Tuesday! (October 9th) So don't forget to watch, its on NBC at 10:00pm (9:00 Central time). She also has to keep the secret from her boyfriend, Harvey, friends Jenny and later Valerie, stuck-up nemesis Libby, and her ever-suspicious vice-principal, Mr. Kraft.
Actually, this is a revision that was originally a section about Melissa Joan Hart, but we took the section off of the Internet sometime around 2002 and planned to relaubch it on another server, but guess what. We forgot. Anyway, now that we got news that the Sabrina series is coming to DVD, we finally got the motivation to bring the Melissa section back to the Internet, thanks to a new way of creating a website by using a program written in Power Basic and a database, plus this page that serves as a template for the other pages in this section. This database/program method is also used on the eightisenough.com website (sections 08 and 88) which we have been authoring since 1997, and has also been used on the sandiegoradionews.com website, section 01.
