BioDoug got his first regular job playing Joe Kelly on "General Hospital" in 1979. He also played the police officer in the Bo Derek flick "10" that same year. In 1983, he joined "Knots Landing" as Ben Gibson, and was a regular in the three-year series "Clueless" as Mel Horowitz in 1997.But in 1988, he played the family patriarch Brian Harper in the series "Day by Day" which also starred Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who would become a regular in "Seinfeld" in 1990. The series was supposedly a spin-off of "Family Ties." The series lasted just 16 months, but not before becoming famous for one episode: "A Very Brady Epsiode" airing on February 5, 1989, where Brian's son dreamed that he was in The Brady Bunch as a lost son named Chuck.
